The Clare Foundation in partnership with national charity, Getting On Board, is pleased to host this masterclass series on Trusteeship.
We are delighted to announce our series of masterclasses on trusteeship and getting the right board for your not for profit organisation, launching in January 2021.
Following on from our successful and engaging Charity Leaders Forum on Trusteeship on 1 December 2020; where expert speaker Penny Wilson, CEO of Getting on Board, spoke about the importance of recruiting the right mix of trustees to serve on your charity board, we have planned a deeper dive into trusteeship.
Join us for the series of five online masterclasses where we’ll take a closer look at how to recruit the best possible mix of individuals for your charity board. We’ll be providing practical tips and tools which will enable you to market your trustee roles to a wider audience. Our expert speaker and trainer for the masterclasses will be Lynn Calman who has over 15 years of experience in charity regulation, law and governance.
Places are limited, so please sign up via Eventbrite as soon as possible to avoid disappointment. These masterclasses are free of charge to attend, but we do request that you make a commitment to attend at least four of the five sessions in order to get the most benefit.

Getting On Board
Getting on Board helps find the best possible volunteers to serve on charity boards. They support and train charities to improve their board recruitment, and they help individuals and their employers to find the best possible opportunities. They are changing the face of trusteeship through more open recruitment practices. Open recruitment works because it brings you more candidates, and particularly a more diverse range of candidates, and this means a greater range of skills and perspectives on your board – two things which are absolutely key to success.
Your trainer
Lynn Calman has 15 years’ experience in the charity sector: in regulation, charity law and governance. Lynn has worked with charities of all shapes and sizes, she spent seven years at the Charity Commission – where she provided legal consents and bespoke one-to-one guidance. Lynn believes that pretty much anyone can be a trustee; it’s about finding the right fit and the right support.
Lynn wrote both of Getting On Board’s guides (how to recruit trustees and how to become a charity trustee) and is an excellent pair of hands!
