After working on this project, for two years, the Bedgrove Residents & Community Association, was delighted to officially open the Bedgrove Park Pump Track on 12th July. Speeches were made, a ribbon was cut, photos were taken, and then the fun commenced with competitions to enter and prizes to be won.
This facility is of real benefit to the local community as a well designed pump track is not just for BMX riders but can be used by everyone from skateboarders to scooter riders and from adults and older kids, wishing to hone their skills, to a youngster riding their bike for the first time.
The Clare Foundation was able to provide free bid writing training and one-to-one support as well as a generous grant.
You can see photos of the pump track in use and find out about the other project sponsors here.
Martin Gallagher, CEO at The Clare Foundation:
“I am delighted both for the local children and the organising committee – their enthusiasm, hard work and commitment was outstanding – it was great to collaborate with them from inception to seeing the finished track. Congratulations!”

Robin Walker, Chair of Trustees at The Clare Foundation:
“This is a genuine achievement from Joanne Cheek and her team delivering a real additional facility for the local cyclists and the local community. The Clare Foundation was pleased to have been a small part of that effort. The launch benefitted from great weather and it was wonderful to see both the local teens/tweens and children enjoying the track and also to hear that they will be part of the management committee to keep the track in good condition going forward.”
