Session 2: 5 September 2023

A practical guide to creating film content for your charity, hosted by Alan Walsh, Founder of HelpFilm, a former television director and current video professional based in London.

What to expect

The presentation will cover the do’s and don’ts of practical, low budget filmmaking for the charitable sector. We’ll cover advice on planning, equipment, software, and industry tricks to help create the right content for your charity.

About our speaker: Alan Walsh – Founder and Director, HelpFilm

Alan Walsh is the founder of HelpFilm, a charitable production company that has worked with over 30 charities in the past 3 years. He started out in Irish television as an editor and director before relocating to London in 2011. For the past 12 years he has been running Citywire Studios in London and New York.

HELPFILM CREATES VIDEOS TO SUPPORT AND PROMOTE CHARITIES

HelpFilm was founded by Alan Walsh – a former television director and current video professional based in London. Through his contacts in the industry he has met a variety of wonderful filmmakers who are happy to give their time for a good cause. HelpFilm uses only working professional filmmakers or video producers to create high-end videos and animations and to provide productions and editing services to small and medium sized charities across a broad range of valuable causes.

“We use creative and compelling storytelling – as a well told story will move an audience to think, reflect and then act – to enable those charities to further their purposes and achieve their goals.”
