A celebration of Buckinghamshire charities
Our second Angels’ Den was an even greater success than our first. Hosted this year at the lovely Elgiva Theatre in Chesham we were able to put on quite a show!
Martin Gallagher, CEO, welcomed everyone and then handed over to our MC, Nathan Cooper from Bucks Radio who introduced our three returning Angels: Founder and President, Mike Clare, George Anson, and Matt Storey, and our two new Angels: Sarah Leslie and Peter Jones, yes from Dragons’ Den. We are very grateful to all of the Angels for their generous contribution of £10,000 each, which we were able to match fund giving us a total funding pot of £100,000.
Then it was time for the ten charity finalists to present to the Angels and they all did exceptionally well. It was no easy task with only two minutes to get their inspiring and often emotional messages across followed by four minutes to answer questions from the panel.
The Angels retired to a dressing room to deliberate while our guests enjoyed refreshments and networking while being entertained by the Silver Surfers. It wasn’t long before it was time to hear the results. Every charity was awarded a share of the £100,000 pot and a certificate. The awards are listed below.
We will be hosting our next Angels’ Den in September 2025 and inviting charities to submit applications in the new year.
£20,000 - The Theatre Shed
£18,000 - Youth Concern
£15,000 - Brighter Futures Together
£12,000 - Been There

£5,000 - Animal Antiks
