The Clare Foundation are delighted to have been able to support MKCDC with seed-funding to become COVID-19 safe and be able to promote their up-coming activities
With the current restrictions and reduced capacity levels in place many event venues and historical sites have struggled to re-open.
Milton Keynes City Discovery Centre informs visitors (children and adults) about urban geography and new city planning – as well as the historical and natural heritage of Milton Keynes. MKCDC undertakes charitable activities in several areas including – educational programmes, access to library resources and providing meeting and administrative space for community groups.
The Clare Foundation were able to provide funding for PPE Equipment to create a safe space and Marketing and PR support to help promote their activities.

They have lots of activities planned over the next coming months and are currently preparing for their Medieval wagon play, linking the pilgrimage history of the site, the Black Death of the fourteenth century and the current COVID-19 crisis.
Recently they have been filming for their online Roman Day ‘The Mystery of Bancroft Villa’ and have produced short activity films for Archaeology Week which can be viewed on YouTube.
