Supporting Lindengate in Wendover with Guidance & Funding for their Rest & Reflect Programme

During the first lockdown in 2020, Lindengate was forced to close its gates and without being able to support our community, were not eligible for any new funding opportunities. Running on a very reduced team of staff, Lindengate launched a drop in Rest & Reflect pilot programme, initially to support NHS, Key and Essential workers in June.

TCF provided Lindengate with £1000 seed funding, they used as leverage to seek other funders, which enabled them to develop and facilitate the Rest & Reflect programme, initially for 3 months.

Lindengate update on Rest & Reflect – A Year On

A year on, and the Rest & Reflect programme has now welcomed over 1800 visitors, with free entry, open to all at various times during the week. The programme has been a resounding success and continues to support the community, with groups booking to meet and reconnect, after months apart. Lindengate have been able to support the Buckinghamshire NHS Trust ICU team of 90 staff, along with their management team as well as secure additional substantial funding to roll out a number of other programmes, including a Bereavement Programme and a whole suite of programmes for the Under 25’s.

“The credibility of being in partnership with The Clare Foundation enabled us to secure much needed funding to cover the initial set up costs for the Rest & Reflect pilot programme.  With the continuing success of the programme, we have been able to reach new supporters and funding to roll out more programmes, enabling us to increase the numbers of people we can help and offer an all age, fully integrated service” says Charlie Powell – Co-Founder & General Manager at Lindengate Charity.

The Clare Foundation CEO Martin Gallagher along with with our Trustees Chris Williams, Rebecca Chandler-Wilde and Robin Walker visited the site in June 2021 to see how the programme had developed over the last year.

“We have worked closely with Charlie (Powell) CEO, and her Team at Lindengate over several years, but during the first Covid lockdown we worked together to create the programme now known as ‘Rest & Reflect’ which has been seen as a model of good practice and we are delighted and honoured to have been able to support Lindengate Charity with this. We are here to work with and support charities across Buckinghamshire for the wellbeing of the residents of Bucks, it has been our privilege to be a part of the Lindengate  journey.” says Martin Gallagher, CEO at The Clare Foundation.

Lindengate gives you the time and space to ‘be’ in a calm, safe environment whilst relaxing in beautiful, natural surroundings and we look forward to continue in supporting them in the near in the future.
