The Clare Foundation, Buckinghamshire Council and key charity leaders held its first CVS task force meeting on Friday to ensure that the needs of the community are best met where possible.

It was fantastic to have a wide variety of charity leaders in the room who all play an important part at this time – Community Impact Bucks, Action4Youth, Rothschild Foundation, Heart of Bucks, Buckinghamshire Mind, Bucks Business First and Citizens Advice.

The meeting was also attended by Martin Tett, Leader of the Cabinet, Claire Hawkes, Director, Localities and Strategic Partners at Buckinghamshire Council and Gareth Williams, Cabinet Minister.

The attending organisations are key delivery partners in the Buckinghamshire community and vital to the efforts of providing strategic support in implementing the actions as they come into directives.

“The Board and I are happy to direct the Clare Charity team in providing support for charities, Bucks Council and our community in these unprecedented times. It is critical that we work together to minimise the risk to the vulnerable and those in isolation, I am delighted that Martin & his team can be best placed to help” says Mike Clare, Founder and Chair of The Clare Foundation.

“Mike Clare, along with Trustees and staff, are happy to support charities as they have been doing so for 10 years and working alongside sector colleagues and the Council to ensure that those who need help – get it”. says CEO of The Clare Foundation, Martin Gallagher.

Bucks Council have implement a Coronavirus Community Hub which provides information on coronavirus (COVID-19), including what you can do to protect yourself, support your community and the impact of the disease on our services.

The Clare Foundation continues to keep “our door open” – whilst we don’t deliver seminars and workshops, we continue to provide ongoing support and resources for CEOs and Charity Leaders as best possible in this unprecedented time.

Given the dramatic change over the past few weeks, the damage being done by the Coronavirus and the predicted changes – we at The Clare Foundation have adapted our ways of working and our delivery. We are now more than ever mindful of the needs of the wider community. We are coalescing around the Buckinghamshire Council strategic repositioning and response to this COVID-19 crisis.

We are here for our sector colleagues; this may not be face to face but we are on the phone and happy to help where we can and triage where we can’t help directly. Please call Martin Gallagher on 07730 762900 or send an email martin.gallagher@theclarefoundation.org.

We are here to help charities with their strategy and business redesign, support with advocacy where appropriate and lobby on behalf of the sector at County Council and beyond.

We will continue to work closely with Buckinghamshire Council, CVS Charities, Funding Partners and Trust & Grant bodies to see if we can have funding redefined and new funding released for the purpose of helping those during the Coronavirus outbreak.
