The Clare Foundation is excited to be partnering with Lennons Solicitors to bring you the first in a series of seminars.

Gifts to Charities Unwrapped is an in-person event for charity professionals responsible for legacies, finance and governance and our guest speaker is Kumaran Sivathillainathan.

This seminar will guide you on:

  • how charities can deal with hostile beneficiaries or obstructive executors or administrators
  • how beneficiaries can replace or remove executors or administrators who are not administering the estate properly
  • how to risk proof gifts to charities to minimise any future issues

About our speaker

Kumaran Sivathillainathan, Solicitor/Head of Litigation and Dispute Resolution at Lennons Solicitors.

Kumaran Sivathillainathan is an experienced litigation solicitor with over ten years of experience in commercial litigation, contentious probate matters, contractual claims and professional negligence disputes, ranging from county court level to the High Court and the Court of Appeal.

After receiving a BA (Hons) in PPE from the University of Oxford, Kumaran trained at a Legal 500-ranked firm from 2010 to 2012. He then joined a boutique London litigation firm in October 2012 and was later appointed as a director. Kumaran was subsequently appointed as Head of Litigation & Dispute Resolution at Lennons in November 2021.

He has also contributed articles to the New Law Journal (about the effect of selective settlements by banks on the case law for financial services mis-selling litigation) and the Solicitors Journal (about the increased importance of ‘no win, no fee’ agreements for SME and not-for-profit claimants following the implementation of the Legal Aid, Sentencing and Punishment of Offenders Act 2012).
