Supporting vulnerable families in the High Wycombe Community

On Thursday 18th March The Clare Foundation organised and facilitated food deliveries to vulnerable families in the High Wycombe community. The Caribbean and English Grill prepared a wide variety of dishes and we want to give a special thank you to the caterer Mike Allen Pilgrim for serving such delicious food. We also couldn’t have done anything without our volunteers who successfully delivered 96 meals in 3 hours.

We are really grateful for the support from the High Wycombe Community Board, One Can Trust, Khepera CIC, WMCO and My Order Box who generously provided us with the ordering App and software. Thank you to everyone involved in making the project a huge success, we’ve already had so many positive responses from the local community.

“Thank you so much for the lovely meal I received this evening, I am grateful for all you have done to achieve this for people like me”
“We had a really good evening and we enjoyed the food so much, thank you”

“The food was absolutely yummy, we really appreciate your time for us”

The Clare Foundation are working with partners to roll out a similar hot food service in the following Community Board areas over the coming weeks: Aylesbury, Wendover, Haddenham and Waddesdon, South West Chilterns, Beaconsfield and Chepping Wye and The Beeches.

The Community Take Away hot meal delivery service is just one of our projects focused on supporting Buckinghamshire residents who are experiencing financial insecurity. The economic impact of Covid-19 is having a profound effect on a growing number of people in Bucks, and we continue to work closely with our VCSE colleagues and Bucks Council to ensure appropriate support is in place to help people at this difficult time.
