The Clare Foundation & the High Wycombe Community Board working together to make Bucks a happier place.

From children and young people to businesses and vulnerable residents, High Wycombe Community Board has been working hard to develop and support projects and initiatives which benefit a wide range of the local community.

Over the last few months The Clare Foundation have been working closely with the High Wycombe Community Board on a variety of projects.

Some of these projects include –

  • The Clare Foundation in partnership with The Big Community TakeawayOne Can TrustBuckinghamshire CouncilHigh Wycombe Community Board and Wycombe Wanderers Sports and Educational Trust ran a pilot hot meal delivery service in High Wycombe on the evening of the 22nd December to help the vulnerable during the COVID-19 pandemic. It was such a fantastic effort by all those involved. We served 186 meals in a total of 1hr 30 mins.
  • The High Wycombe Community Board kindly matched our funding to the African Caribbean network for the 3 week pilot in December. African Caribbean organisations & leaders in High Wycombe came together to catalyse the support being offered by The Clare Foundation & the Community Board, in order to provide hot meal support to the community. The aim of the project was to support vulnerable families & individuals of African Heritage who had been affected by COVID-19 & restrictions.
  • Care leavers and children at three local schools received extra support last winter from the High Wycombe Community Board. The Helping Hands Extra project complemented Buckinghamshire Council’s commitment to provide support to vulnerable residents over the school holidays. The Clare Foundation were delighted to support this project along with Leap by providing match funding.
  • Seerah Today are doing fantastic work in the community supporting homeless families and those experiencing financial insecurity and food poverty. They are putting together emergency support packs for families who have been made homeless, or who have been placed in temporary accommodation whilst a longer term solution can be arranged by the Council and the local Housing Association. The packs can include bedding and blankets, kitchen utensils, crockery, cutlery, clothing, towels, personal hygiene products, nappies etc. These families often have little more than the clothes they arrive in. We are delighted to be able to match fund the project work that the charity Seerah Today are working on right now.
