About our speaker: Ian Hempseed, Head of Charities and Social Enterprise, Hempsons
Ian is a charity and corporate lawyer who has a wide range of experience in the field of charity, commercial, constitutional and governance law. He heads up the Charities and Social Enterprise team at Hempsons. His broad expertise includes advising charities and social enterprises on collaborative approaches to delivery of their purposes across the spectrum from contractual partnerships, special purpose vehicles to fully integrated mergers.
He also works closely with organisations, public sector staff and entrepreneurs in developing appropriate legal structures for social enterprises.
Ian is regularly invited by external organisations to run workshops and training sessions on a wide range of topics affecting charities and social enterprises.
Ian acts for a number of prominent charities including Letchworth Garden City Heritage Foundation, Zoological Society of London, the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health and the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, as well as many regional or specialised smaller national charities. He is also a trustee of Power to Change.
